INFLUENCE OF GANDHIAN PHILOSOPHY ON INDIAN SOCIETY AND CULTURE

Abstract [English]

The harmony between East and West that Shri Ganesh and Swami Vivekananda had brought about was taken forward on a wider basis by Gandhi, Arvind, Nehru and Rabindra. They had their own way, their own working system, their efforts brought the East and the West closer to each other and hence their era is called the 'era of harmony or coordination'. All these great personalities played their role on the ideological and practical level of nation building by stressing on coordination and tolerance. The mantra of Sarvodaya that Mahatma Gandhi instilled was taken forward by Jai Prakash Narayan and Vinoba Bhave.
Gandhi philosophy has had a wide impact on Indian society and culture. Gandhiji's ideas have also found a place in the Constitution. Which has had an impact on the society. Gandhiji had studied the social problems of India, these were the problems that were hollowing out our social structure. His approach towards these problems was not narrow and regional, nor was it national but international. He was of the view that due to the failure of social reformers, their roots have become deep in the society. These evils were attacked harshly and he tried to rebuild the society.
