Vol. 6 No. 1s (2025): SPECIAL ISSUE ON REIMAGINING VISUAL ARTS, MEDIA, AND CULTURAL PEDAGOGY IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Reimagining Visual Arts, Media, and Cultural Pedagogy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

This special issue of ShodhKosh: Journal of Visual and Performing Arts (E‑ISSN 2582‑7472), titled “Reimagining Visual Arts, Media, and Cultural Pedagogy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” offers a comprehensive exploration of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the creative landscape. Moving beyond its role as a technological tool, AI is now a cultural and pedagogical mediator influencing artistic production, educational methodologies, heritage preservation, and institutional management. The curated papers in this edition highlight diverse themes such as generative art, neural aesthetics, digital storytelling, folk art preservation, diffusion‑model photography, and interactive museum practices, while also addressing ethical concerns like deepfake risks and governance of AI‑generated works. By blending innovation with responsibility, the contributions emphasize AI’s potential to enrich learning environments, expand access to cultural knowledge, and support sustainable art practices. Collectively, this issue underscores AI’s transformative impact on the future of art, media, and cultural pedagogy.
