The objective of the present research was to study the correlation between parenting style and aggressive tendencies of higher secondary level students. The study included 500 students (250 from government and 250 from private schools) from Kota district. The results showed that there is a moderate to strong positive correlation between parenting style and aggressive tendencies, which was found to be statistically significant. This correlation was stronger among students of private schools. This finding clearly shows that parenting style has a direct impact on the behaviour and emotional balance of students. This research can prove useful for parents, teachers, counsellors and education policy makers, so that they can understand the aggressive tendencies of adolescents and guide positive social and emotional development.
