This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the effect of picture dialogue teaching method on creativity of upper primary level students. In the current educational scenario, creativity is being accepted as an essential life skill, but most schools still use traditional, textbook-centric teaching methods, which limit the original thinking and expression ability of students. In this research, 60 upper primary students were divided into two groups—control (30) and experimental (30)—using a pre-test-post-test control group design. The experimental group was taught through picture dialogue method for 4 weeks while the control group was taught through traditional methods. In the study, dimensions like plot construction, dialogue writing, descriptive style etc. were evaluated using a self-made creativity test. Analysis of the data revealed that there was a statistically significant increase (p < 0.01) in the creativity of the students of the experimental group, while the change in the control group was negligible. This leads to the conclusion that the picture dialogue teaching method proves helpful in effectively developing the creative ability of the students of the upper primary level. This method is a strong initiative towards educational innovations, which needs to be adopted regularly in the classroom.
