Vol. 6 No. 2s (2025): SPECIAL ISSUE ON ALGORITHMIC AESTHETICS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN VISUAL ARTS, CULTURAL EDUCATION, AND CREATIVE PRACTICE

Algorithmic Aesthetics and Artificial Intelligence in Visual Arts, Cultural Education, and Creative Practice

It is with great pleasure that I present Volume 6, Issue 2s (2025) of  ShodhKosh: Journal of Visual and Performing Arts, a special issue titled “Algorithmic Aesthetics and Artificial Intelligence in Visual Arts, Cultural Education, and Creative Practice.” This issue responds to the accelerating integration of artificial intelligence across creative, educational, and cultural domains and seeks to foster critical, interdisciplinary dialogue on its aesthetic, pedagogical, and institutional implications. Artificial intelligence has evolved from a technical tool into a cultural agent that reshapes aesthetic processes, artistic authorship, and creative pedagogy, challenging established notions of originality and human expression. The special issue brings together diverse scholarly contributions that foreground humanistic inquiry and examine AI-driven creative practices, ethical concerns, and pedagogical transformations. All submissions underwent rigorous peer review, reflecting both the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence. This volume aims to inspire critical reflection and informed dialogue on the evolving relationship between algorithmic systems, artistic creativity, and cultural knowledge.
