मादक द्रव्य वे रासायनिक पदार्थ हैं जो किशोरों के कार्यों, प्रक्रियाओं एवं शिक्षा को प्रभावित करते हैं। मादक द्रव्यों के सेवन के लिए शब्द का उपयोग इस तरह से किया जाता था जिसमें बार-बार शारीरिक खतरे, सामाजिक या पारस्परिक समस्याएं, आदि को पूरा करने में समस्याएं या कोई कानूनी समस्याएं शामिल हो सकती हैं।
