A mythological drama is a drama based on the stories, characters and events in the Puranas. It generally reflects religious, moral and cultural values and shows the audience an ideal way of life.

ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ನಾಟಕ ಎಂದರೆ ಪುರಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಥೆಗಳು, ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ ರಚಿತವಾದ ನಾಟಕ. ಇದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ನೈತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಆದರ್ಶ ಜೀವನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
