GEOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS OF WATER RESOURCES IN MORADABAD DISTRICT

Water is an important resource among natural resources and it is a basic necessity for all living beings. Moradabad district is situated between 28 degrees 06' north latitude to 28 degrees 40' and 78 degrees 04' to 78 degrees 27' east longitude, whose area is 2208 square kilometers. The total population is 31.26 lakh persons and the population density is 14.15 persons per square kilometer. Availability of water resources in Moradabad district is present in the form of rivers, canals, streams, lakes, ponds and subsoil water. Annual rainfall is 110 cm and depth of subsoil water level is 8.00 m. Length of canals is 511 km and 175 ponds and lakes are situated. In Moradabad district, water resources are used as per requirement in various works in which consumptive use is more visible. Use of water in various works is increasing rapidly. Keeping in view the future water demand, water conservation is necessary.

प्राकृतिक संसाधनों में जल एक महत्वपूर्ण संसाधन है और यह सभी जीवधारियों के लिए आधारभूत आवश्यक है। जनपद मुरादाबाद 28 डिग्री 06' उत्तरी अंक्षाश से 28 डिग्री 40' एवं 78 डिग्री 04' से 78 डिग्री 27' पूर्वी देशान्तर के मध्य हैं, जिसका क्षेत्रफल 2208 वर्ग किलोमीटर है। कुल जनसंख्या 31.26 लाख व्यक्ति एवं जनघनत्व 14.15 व्यक्ति प्रति वर्ग किलोमीटर है। जनपद मुरादाबाद में जल संसाधनो की उपलब्धता नदियों, नहरों सरिताओं, झीलों, तालाबों एवं अवमृदा जल के रूप में विद्यमान है। वार्षिक वर्षा 110 सेन्टीमीटर एवं अवमृदा जल स्तर की गहराई 8.00 मीटर है। नहरों की लम्बाई 511 किलोमीटर एवं 175 तालाब एवं झीले स्थित है। जनपद मुरादाबाद में जलसंसाधनों का उपयोग विभिन्न कार्यो में आवश्यकता के अनुरूप किया जाता है जिसमें क्षयकारी प्रयोग अधिक परिलक्षित होता है। विभिन्न कार्यो में जल का उपयोग तेजी से बढ़ रहा है। भावी जल की मांग को देखते हुए जल संरक्षण किया जाना आवश्यक है।
