Juvenile offenders in India face significant mental health challenges that impede their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. This paper examines the prevalence and nature of these challenges, systemic gaps in addressing them, and socio-cultural factors contributing to their marginalization. This study, using existing literature and legal frameworks, highlights the urgent need for mental health services within the juvenile justice system to promote effective rehabilitation of minor offenders and reduce recidivism of juvenile crimes. Furthermore, this research researchers aim to analyze the steps taken by the Indian government to improve the mental health of adolescents in conflict with the law and the challenges faced in their implementation.

भारत में किशोर अपराधियों को मानसिक स्वास्थ्य संबंधी महत्वपूर्ण चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ता है, जो उनके पुनर्वास और समाज में पुनः एकीकरण में बाधा डालती हैं। यह शोध पत्र इन चुनौतियों की व्यापकता और प्रकृति, उन्हें संबोधित करने में प्रणाली गत अंतराल और उनके हाशिए पर जाने में योगदान देने वाले सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक कारकों की जांच करता है। यह अध्ययन मौजूदा साहित्य और कानूनी ढाँचों का उपयोग करते हुए, नाबालिग अपराधियों के प्रभावी पुनर्वास को बढ़ावा देने और किशोर अपराधों की पुनरावृत्ति को कम करने के लिए किशोर न्यायप्रणाली के भीतर मानसिक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की तत्काल आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डालता है। इसके अलावा, यह शोध शोधकर्ताओं का उद्देश्य कानून से संघर्षरत किशोरों के मानसिक स्वास्थ्य में सुधार के लिए भारतीय सरकार द्वारा उठाए गए कदमों और उनके कार्यान्वयन में आने वाली चुनौतियों का विश्लेषण करना है।
