There has been a lot of change in the status of women in independent India. Nowadays women are progressing in the field of politics, society, economy, culture, science and education. Women played an important role in the freedom struggle. After independence, women came out of the house and contributed to the development of the country. Changes in the status of women after independence:
• Women are no longer confined to the four walls of the house.
• The main purpose of women's work is to earn money and use time properly.
• Women are developing mentally and physically.
• Women are also gaining equal rights with men in the economic field.

आज़ाद भारत में महिलाओं की स्थिति में काफ़ी बदलाव आया है। आजकल महिलाएं राजनीति, समाज अर्थव्यवस्था संस्कृति विज्ञान और शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ रही हैं। स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में महिलाओं ने अहम भूमिका निभाई थी। आज़ादी के बाद महिलाओं ने घर से बाहर निकलकर देश के विकास में योगदान दिये । आज़ादी के बाद महिलाओं की स्थिति में आए बदलाव:
• महिलाएं अब घर की चार दीवारों तक सीमित नहीं रहतीं.
• महिलाओं का काम करने का मुख्य उद्देश्य धनोपार्जन और समय का सही इस्तेमाल करना ।
• महिलाएं मानसिक और शारीरिक रूप से विकसित हो रही हैं.
• महिलाएं आर्थिक क्षेत्र में भी पुरुषों के बराबर समानता का अधिकार हासिल कर रही हैं. ।
