RAJASTHANI CINEMA: PROBLEMS, POSSIBILITIES AND SOLUTIONS

Abstract [English]

Rajasthan, a state with a rich cultural heritage and a significant film industry, has been largely overlooked in the development of regional cinema. This research paper aims to understand the history and current state of Rajasthani cinema through surveys and interviews with people associated with it. The study uses both primary and secondary data, with questionnaires and phone interviews used for data collection. The research reveals that the main problems faced by Rajasthani cinema include government ignorance, lack of constitutional recognition of the language, disinterest among the new generation, and lack of interest in Rajasthani among the audience. Other issues include financial constraints, lack of publicity, and poor scripts. The research also highlights the division of Rajasthani cinema into camps, with some actors and writers struggling to find support. The government should support Rajasthani cinema by promoting its art culture, language, and tourism to improve the situation. This could involve increasing subsidies, making locations free for cinema, arranging permission for shooting, and creating a good environment for filming. Internal reform is also necessary, with current directors and producers being encouraged to focus on creating good stories and making films available to the general public. People, artists, and technicians dedicated to Rajasthani cinema should be brought together on one platform, and interesting short films should be produced for children and youth in local languages. Increased publicity and social media use are also necessary.

रंग बिरंगी संस्कृति, सभ्यता, पहनावा, खान-पान जैसी विशेषताओं से युक्त राजस्थान जिसका हर शहर सांस्तिक विरासत को अपने आप में समेटे हुए हैं, वो राजस्थान जिसने पर्यटन से लेकर सिनेमा सबको अपनी ओर आकर्षित किया उसने अपने क्षेत्रिय सिनेमा को अनदेखा क्यों कर दिया ये विचारणीय प्रश्न हैं। जिस भारत में हर साल सभी भाषाओं को मिलाकर 1500 से 2000 फिल्मों का उत्पादन होता हैं, उस भारत में क्षेत्रफल की दृष्टि से सबसे बड़े राज्य राजस्थान में उँगलियों पर गिनी जा सके उतनी क्षेत्रीय फिल्मों का निर्माण होना एक प्रश्न है। उन कुछ फिल्मों का फायदा होना तो दूर, लागत भी न मिल पाना एक प्रश्न है। इन्ही प्रश्नों की तलाश में राजस्थानी सिनेमा के अब तक के सफर का अध्ययन करते हुए इससे जुड़े लोगो के साथ सर्वे एवं साक्षात्कार के द्वारा यह शोधपत्र राजस्थानी सिनेमा के विकास की बाधाओं का अध्ययन करता हैं और उसके समाधान की तलाश करता है। राजस्थानी सिनेमा के उत्थान के संदर्भ में सम्भावनाओं को तलाशते हुए इस क्षेत्र की तरफ विकास को गति देने का प्रयास यह शोध पत्र करता है।
